Working with the Community for the Community

Community development is about working with the local community to achieve improvements for people living in that community. It involves individuals coming together in an inclusive way, to work as a team in developing projects that meet the needs of the local community. The achievements listed here are not mine to claim as an individual. They are the results of the hard work put in by teams of dedicated volunteers, which I have had the honour to be a part of.

Bridge Complex

I was instrumental in negotiating for the site and state funding for the new Crèche and Day Care Centre in Sixmilebridge.

GAA Field

Through my contacts, I was instrumental in negotiating the funding for the redevelopment of Sixmilebridge GAA Field. Elderly People I was instrumental in helping local elderly people through the Personal Alarm Scheme.
